|Description: || This paper clarifies the general characteristics of the duties of university staff on the way of staff development(SD). Also, based on that, it considers how to train university staff.
The general characteristic of the duties of the university staff is that the roles of the staff are defined by the instantiation of the university’s mission. Concerning the practice of that role, the trends of administrative agencies under the jurisdiction of the policy, the patterns of the needs of the citizens and society as well as the relationships among staffs and teachers within the university, are affected.
In fostering university staff with such characteristics, it is necessary to focus on the knowledge of research on adult education research while continuously trying to cultivate competencies such as the ability to use tools, autonomy, cooperativeness. In other words, it is necessary to pay attention to the “designing” that attracts attention when cultivating professional human resources while fostering the performance of duties and introducing reflection. The role given to university staff would be realized by designing.|
